We have two indoor riding arenas, outdoor riding and fantastic trails.

What to expect:
Prior to your arrival we request some basic information which includes the number of riders, their ages, approx. height and weight and a brief description of any previous riding experience and any previous traumatic experiences around large animals. This information helps us select the correct horses and saddles for the riders.
When you arrive we will first have you try out your saddle and fit it correctly on a saddle stand. At this time we review how to sit properly on a saddle, how your body posture and movements communicates with your horse and how to "sit quietly" in the saddle.
We then begin in our indoor training arena. Here everyone gets on their horses and everyone gets to learn how to ask their horse to walk, stop, back up, steering, walking over obstacle and how to transition into a trot and back to a walk. This usually takes approx. 10 minutes.
Now we either go to our large indoor event arena ( 100' x 160' ) or to our outdoor riding area to practice and get comfortable with riding in more wide open spaces. At this time the free riding begins, however we are always present and offering instruction to ensure that everyone and the horses are having a fun a safe ride.
From this time forward, you get to choose what you want to do. Some of the options are to explore the beautiful trails located in a wonderful old growth forest with views of the lower cascades and the Viola valley, play in the outdoor riding area or play in the large arena. In the arena there are barrels, poles, small jumps etc. for variety. If any of the individuals wish to canter their horses, they are welcome to ask the instructor and it will be up the instructor to authorize this or not; depending on the riders ability and desire.
We also offer picnic rides into the forest. Please inquire about details.
